I returned to France in 2014 for my honeymoon. We began in Paris, staying a few nights at a Hyatt with a view of the city and Eiffel Tower. The city felt familiar this time, like I was returning home. We spent time at Rodin Museum, walked through Montparnasse, and visited Versailles. One of the highlights was a day trip to Giverny to see Monet’s lily pads.

Next, we traveled south to Annecy, a quiet, picturesque, small town my best friend said was a must see. We continued to Lyon where I returned to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, which stayed with me since my first visit. We also visited Théâtre Antique d’Orange and Avignon, and spent time at a vineyard in the region.

Toward the end of the trip, we stayed in a beautiful Airbnb in Montparnasse. It was six flights up with no elevator, but the view was worth it. We filled the days with the usual tourist things: macarons from Ladurée, escargot, and watching the Eiffel Tower light up at night.
